• Sleeping FAQ: 6-9 Months – Daytime Sleep

We start our day early so I am not sure if my 7.5mth son is ready yet to drop his afternoon nap I am not sure when to drop my 7.5mth son’s afternoon nap. We have to start our day at 6.15 for work and nursery and he sleeps well through out the day and night going from 7pm to 6.15 am. His lunch time nap varies from 1 and a half hours to 2 hours sleep, but he is still having his afternoon nap at 4/415 for 30 minutes. I can keep him awake but he becomes more miserable in the evening. Having the nap doesn’t affect his night…

  • Sleeping FAQ: 4-6 Months – Daytime Sleep

My 17 week old twins need two morning naps and then sleep less at lunchtime I have 17 week old twins (11 weeks adjusted). I use the routines with their adjusted date of 11 weeks. The biggest problem is the morning nap is too early and also taken twice. This makes the lunch time nap at completely the wrong time. The only part of the routine that I seem to have got right is the bedtime side of things. I cannot keep the babies awake in the morning past 8:30am latest – I have tried everything. They are so tired that I can be in the middle of playing with…

  • Sleeping FAQ: 4-6 Months – Daytime Sleep

One of my 5.5mth twins has begun to wake early at the lunchtime nap and seems tired and more clingy through out the day Now that my twins are five and a half months old, their different personalities are really starting to show. My little girl is pretty sanguine about most things and cries very little. She can amuse herself for up to half an hour on her mat or in her chair alone and sleeps well. My boy, though, is getting more and more demanding. He has started waking up from his nap after an hour (despite my gradually almost completely dropping the morning nap) which leaves him grumpy…

  • Sleeping FAQ: 4-6 Months – Daytime Sleep

My 4.5mth daughter has always needed more sleep than recommended but now is unsettled at naptimes and is waking early for her late feed My daughter has been on the CLB routines since her 7th week of life and taken quite well to them. However, one area of concern has always been her sleep, she always seemed to need more sleep than the routines suggested. Even now at 4 months and 3 weeks old I do not seem to be able to keep her awake for more than 2 hrs at the time. She settles well at all nap times and after the 9:45pm feed provided she has her dummy,…

  • Sleeping FAQ: 4-6 Months – Daytime Sleep

My 4 month old daughter had been sleeping from 7pm to 7am but now has started to wake at 6.30am. She is then ready to sleep again at 8.30am which affects the whole day. She has also started to wake in her lunchtime nap despite being offered a top up feed before going down. She still naps for 40 minutes in the afternoon and I wonder if this is the cause of her waking at 3am, although she manages to re- settle herself but then wakes early For the last week she has started to wake several times during her lunchtime nap. I have stayed in the house to try…

  • Sleeping FAQ: 3-4 Months – Daytime Sleep

My 9-week-old can only stay awake for an hour at a time Gina’s routine works well for my 9-week-old son. At night he is taking 4oz after his bath and falling asleep by 7pm, waking at 10.30pm for another 4oz. He then he goes until 4/5/6am (it varies at the moment). We start the days at 7am but my problem is that he falls asleep without exception about an hour after the first feed starts, similarly this happens after the 10am feed, so his naps are always early and this throws everything else out of sync, and we never make it to 2pm for the next feed as he is…

  • Sleeping FAQ: 3-4 Months – Daytime Sleep

At 3 months my daughter is being disturbed in the day by the household noise My husband is away on business for 6 weeks, so I have come to stay with my parents. My home is in the countryside and it is very quiet outside. My daughter has become used to sleeping in a quiet environment. Our home is very soundproof and if I knew there was going to be some noise outside I would switch on some white noise in her room so her sleep was not disturbed. Now we are staying with my parents who live on a road with cars and lorries frequently going past. There are…

  • Sleeping FAQ: 3-4 Months – Daytime Sleep

How can adjust my 15 week daughter’s daytime nap times so she sleeps longer in the middle of the day? My 15 week daughter is very small for her age and more sleepy than most. She gets very angry if I try to shorten her morning nap as she likes to have her two and a half hour sleep in the morning. She suffers food allergies and eczema so never really gets a good nights sleep. She wants to feed up to 3 times in the night for comfort due to the itching. Due to her allergies we won’t start her on solids until as late as possible and we’re…

My son of 3 months will only nap in his bouncy chair during the day. If left to settle in his cot he becomes hysterical. His naps last no longer than 30 minutes. He settles easily in his cot at 7pm and sleeps through the night from his late feed to 6.30am. My son of 3 months will only nap in his bouncy chair during the day. • Sleeping FAQ: 8-12 Weeks – Daytime Sleep

My 9 week son sleeps well at night but is difficult to settle in the day My 9 week old struggles to take a morning nap. He sometimes goes down for a lunchtime nap but can waken after an hour in which case I cannot get him back to sleep, which results in a really cranky baby from about 3.30 onwards until bed time. My husband and I are at our wits end with the constant crying all day if we can’t get him to take his naps. He is an excellent baby at night. He goes down no problem at 7pm, gets woken up for the 10.30pm feed and…
