Sleeping FAQ: 9-12 Months – Night Waking
My 11mth son has begun to wake in the night and wants to play and needs milk before settling again My 11-month-old son has slept through since I began the routine when he was 2 months old. He has always seemed very happy in the routine. However since last week he has been waking up at night and wants to play. He will not go to sleep until I give him some milk and on some days even this doesn’t work. I have increased his solid intake and have cut down his daytime sleep to 10 minutes in the morning and 1 1/2 hours at lunch but this still has…

Sleeping FAQ: 9-12 Months – Night Waking
Since our return from the States my 9.5mth son has started to wake every evening and needs help to resettle himself We have just returned from a holiday to the US (Florida) and we are now having big problems with my 9.5mth son sleeping between about 8pm and 11pm. He was a very good sleeper before, going through or occasionally waking at 5am for water. Whilst on holiday he slept well also but we have been home a week now and do not know how to solve this problem. All his day naps are now back to normal but when we put him to bed after his usual night time…

Sleeping FAQ: 9-12 Months – Night Waking
My 10mth son wakes at night on the days when home with me and now has begun to wake earlier in the mornings My son has been a CLB since starting the routine, slept through from 10pm feed at 9 weeks and dropped the 10pm feed at 16 weeks, and continually slept 7pm till 7am. We obviously struggled with the lunchtime sleep but solved that and never had any sleep issues either day time or night time until around 8 months old. We started to experience the occasional night waking maybe once a week and so when he woke we gave a milk feed after leaving him for around 30-45…

Sleeping FAQ: 9-12 Months – Night Waking
My 10 1/2 month old son is waking early since he started crawling My son who is now 10 ½ months old has started to wake up early since he began crawling, which was about 8 weeks ago. He wakes at 5:10am and starts chatting to himself, but then becomes very noisy. I have to give him his bottle by 6.30am. I don’t think he is waking through hunger since he eats well in the day. I have tried to follow the advice given to parents with similar problems of early morning waking however the situation has not improved. I don’t really know what else I can do. I have…

Sleeping FAQ: 9-12 Months – Lunchtime Nap
Since staying with relatives my 9-month-old son has begun to wake in his lunchtime nap One month ago I went to Italy to my parents’ house; my son had no problems in setting for his naps but at the lunchtime nap he began to wake up crying loudly after 1 hour or max 1 hour and 30 minutes (before he was sleeping for 2 hours and he woke up very happy and singing). I made sure of the fact that he was not hungry, thirsty or uncomfortable. I thought perhaps that some new sounds could be upsetting him but he woke up also when there was no sound at all.…

Sleeping FAQ: 6-9 Months – Other
How do I keep my two 8 month boys in their routine when I emigrate to Australia? I am immigrating to Australia at the end of the month. The time in Perth will be seven hours ahead of GMT. Harry, eight months, and Oliver, nearly three, are both in CLB routines. We leave the UK at 12.15pm and will arrive in Perth at 2pm the next day. How do I move them on to Perth time and how long might this take? Do I gradually move the routines forward by seven hours, or should I do it in one go? I have followed the routines since birth and don’t want…

Sleeping FAQ: 6-9 Months – Other
How do I get my 7 month old adjusted to New York time after an evening flight? I have a question about travelling with babies and how to adjust the routine with time differences. We have just returned from a trip to France and booked an evening flight which seemed to work as my 7mth slept on and off all the way home, but the time difference was only 1 hour so it was easy to adjust. However, we are planning to go to New York at Christmas and she will be 10 months then. Again we have booked an evening flight which departs at 6pm and arrives at 9pm…

Is my 7mth daughter old enough to share a room with her 2.5yr old brother? We live in a two bedroom flat. My son of 2.5yrs sleeps from 7.30pm to 7.30am. My 7mth daughter goes to bed by 7pm. I wake her at 10pm for a feed and she wakes at 6.30am. Both of then are in separate rooms while my husband and I sleep in the living room. Is there any way fro a baby and toddler to share a room together so we can have our room back? My son is still sleeping in a cot. My daughter was weaned at 6mths 2weeks and takes a breast feed…

Sleeping FAQ: 6-9 Months – Other
My 8.5mth daughter has learnt to roll onto her front but she cannot get back again and so wakes up several times a night screaming My 8.5mth daughter seems to be waking through the night because she has learnt to turn onto her stomach. But she hates this position and then screams as she can’t turn back over. This happened 8 times last night. What can I do about it? Until your daughter learns to roll both ways with ease you may have to go in to her room at night and help her move onto her back. To help her be able to do this without needing your help,…

Sleeping FAQ: 6-9 Months – Daytime Sleep
Will my 8-month-old cut back on his long morning sleep when he is ready? I have been fairly successful with the CLB routines so far. The only problem I have at the moment is that my son is very awkward at taking his 2.30pm feed and at nearly 8 months I thought that it is either his teeth bothering him or that he is simply ready to drop this feed. Today and a day last week I was forced to alter the routine to take my son to eczema clinic. It has been two of the best days we have had recently. It went as follows: 7.00am: Woke, drank 5…
